The Big Cat Comprehension Strategy packages provide teachers with resources for explicitly teaching comprehension strategies. This package focuses on Questioning, a strategy that good readers use prior to reading, during reading and after reading. Asking questions while reading promotes engagement, invites prediction, creates reasons to read, and fosters comprehension. Good readers question the content, author, events, issues, and the ideas related to a text.

Each strategy folder contains lessons for instructional read aloud and shared reading, focused on the strategy, Questioning. Big Cat books are included for the read aloud lessons and Big Cat overhead transparencies and the interactive, digital texts CD-ROM are included for the shared reading lesson.
